Business Development Associate
About Biomatter
Biomatter designs enzymes that never existed in nature - proteins that were, until recently, impossible to create. They're already at work in health, food, agriculture, and sustainable manufacturing: companies like BASF, Thermo Fisher, and Kirin build their products on enzymes we designed.
Behind this is our platform, which combines state-of-the-art AI with our own wet laboratory. Algorithms design new proteins, the lab builds and tests them, and every experiment makes the next design better. That's why our team spans software engineers, AI researchers, and scientists at the bench.
The role
You will join our business development team and work directly with a Senior Business Development Manager on a set of named client accounts. From day one you own real work on real accounts: preparing calls, joining them, writing the follow-ups, driving next steps with the client and with our science team, and keeping the pipeline honest. You will also execute outbound activities: finding and reaching new companies in your vertical, by phone and email, and booking the first meetings. This position is ideal for people with life science and related background, who want to venture into business development.
This is a starting role with a defined path. The people who do it well become Business Development Managers with their own accounts and targets within roughly 12-18 months.
What you will do
Research accounts and people before client calls and prepare the team.
Join client calls, write and send follow-ups, and keep every next step moving.
Keep Pipedrive accurate and report on your accounts in the weekly pipeline stand-up.
Build target lists, reach out cold, and book qualified meetings with new prospects.
Gradually take over smaller accounts and inbound leads end-to-end.
Who we are looking for
You like talking to people and are not put off by a no. You have already sold, recruited, fundraised or persuaded in some form a student job, a society, a project - and can tell us exactly what you did.
You are coachable: you want feedback and act on it fast.
You are organised and write clearly in English. Lithuanian is a plus.
A life-science background (biology, biochemistry, biotech, chemistry) helps you read a paper or patent and talk to scientists, but curiosity matters more than the degree.
0-2 years of experience. Recent graduates welcome.
What we offer
A clear growth path to Business Development Manager with your own accounts.
Direct mentoring from senior BD colleagues who have built enzyme partnerships with global companies.
Work at the intersection of AI, biotech and business, with international clients.
Base salary €2,000–2,400 gross/month depending on experience.
